                       EDITORIAL

                                           " No pain no gain?"

Seems to be a rather corny saying now days but i still love it, and it certainly applies to any of use who want the most from our training. Likewise it has been both painful and fulfilling putting this first issue of FFS together. My back aches from sitting for hours on end in front of the computer, something i have never done before and also because my brain is overloaded, as i am still trying to work out how to put it all together, you see I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to computers.

I'll tell you someone who is sharp though, NAOMI GIBBINS, she also knows the meaning of "no pain no gain." This woman is an absolute goddess. Check her out in this issues ATHLETES PROFILE. (see below editorial)

The article on the fabulous NAUTILUS MACHINES OF THE 70's was both interesting and fun putting together. I have a distinct fascination for old strength training machines and own both a Nautilus and Universal machines from this era. These machines are bullet proof and made to last decades, not only that but bio mechanically many of these machines are superior to there modern counterparts. This came about because they were designed by people who actually trained, and not by computer wielding geeks like today.

COL's CORNER also features KEN McCORD a classic bodybuilder from the 60's. Ken was only 24 when these pic's were taken, which is absolutely amazing considering his build. There is very little information on Ken, seems even the people in the know in the U.S have about as much info as i do. The pic of Ken posing in the California Hill's is in my opinion the ultimate physique.

In FFS ROUND UP we take a look at FUNCTIONAL V's CORE TRAINING and how to distinguish one from the other to maximise you training. The WORKING MANS ROUTINE, a bit of a soft spot for me there, as it was on this protocol that i cut my teeth on real strength and size gains in the late 80s early 90's it works check it out! Also in ROUND UP, STRETCHING TO KICK COLD. This is not only for the Martial Artist it's a fantastic way to start your day, and a great warm up for most sports. THE PRE-EXHAUST ROUTINE is a turbo charged workout..... read it and find out why!

Stop throwing your money away and getting ripped off with supplements, most don't even work. It's a massive industry designed to suck you in with bullshit. We will show you what you should be taking and how much, in the most crucial time, before and after a workout. Its all there in PRE AND POST WORKOUT NUTRITION.
